Delete your Seriesmate account

This page explains how to delete your account in Seriesmate, the TV show and movie tracking app developed by Sabit Emre Özbey (trading as Seriesmate), and what happens to your data afterwards. It applies to the iOS and Android apps.

Option 1: Delete from the app

  • Open Seriesmate and go to your profile.
  • Open Settings.
  • Tap Delete My Account.
  • Read the information on the screen and tap Confirm.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Account deletion request".

Send the email from the address of the Google or Apple account you use to sign in to Seriesmate, and include your Seriesmate username if you know it. We use this to confirm that the account is yours before deleting it. We will reply to confirm when your request has been received.

The 15-day grace period

After you request deletion, your account is suspended right away. It is permanently deleted 15 days later.

If you change your mind, sign in again within those 15 days. This cancels the request and restores your account with all of its data. After the 15 days have passed, deletion cannot be undone.

What is deleted

When the grace period ends, we permanently delete your account and the data linked to it, including:

  • your profile, username, name, email address, profile and cover photos and avatar;
  • your watchlists, watch history, episode progress, ratings and collections;
  • your posts, comments, reviews, likes, poll votes and messages;
  • your followers and following lists, room history and notification settings;
  • your device and push notification tokens.

What we keep, and for how long

Some data is kept after deletion because the law requires it or because it is needed to protect the service:

  • Purchase and financial records are kept for the periods required by Turkish tax and commercial law, up to 10 years.
  • Security and session logs are kept for up to 2 years from the date they were recorded.
  • The app's random installation identifier is kept without any identity information for up to 90 days to prevent fraud and repeated sign-up abuse, and is then deleted.
  • An anonymous deletion record is kept. It contains dates and activity counts, and no username, email address or other information that identifies you.

Subscriptions are not cancelled automatically

Deleting your Seriesmate account or the app does not cancel a Seriesmate Super subscription. Cancel it in the store where you bought it before deleting your account:

  • Apple App Store: Settings, your name, Subscriptions.
  • Google Play: Play Store, your profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions.
